I began as a student at the Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts in the Technical Theatre program. During my time in high school, I began to build my resume with the help of renowned designer, Nic Phillips.
At HSPVA, I was fortunate enough to spend time with IATSE members at Jones Hall, Wortham Theatre Center, and Miller Outdoor Theatre. Once I graduated high school, I began my advanced education as a theatre student at the University of Houston. Throughout college, I worked for Jersey Productions (Cincinnati, OH), Main Street Theater Children's Theater, Stages Theater, Dionysus Theatre, The Alley Theatre, Class Act Productions, Center Stage Productions, Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, Fitzgerald's and a number of start-up theatres.
Once I received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatrical Design, I began my career as an educator at Rowlett High School, eventually moving to Morton Ranch High School. In 2010, I was offered a position with former Atlantic Records recording artists, Straight No Chaser. For a span of three years, I toured the Western Hemisphere as a lighting designer, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge from some of the best in the industry.
In 2013, after the birth of my first daughter, I went back to teaching and worked in education until the summer of 2023. For four years, I was the theatre facilitator for all 11 high school theatre departments in Fort Bend ISD, where I served on numerous committees, including a fine arts facilities task-force for a billion dollar bond that was approved in 2018 which supplied massive upgrades to most fine arts facilities. I hold a Master of Education with a certification in administration from Angelo State University, as well as a Master of Arts in Theatre from Texas A&M - Commerce. Currently, I sit on the board for Texas Thespians and Class Act Productions.
